Evolver

Kind of an odd sci-fi/thriller. It starts off with a big clunky robotic toy which becomes more and more wicked. The VR effects are cheesy as should be for the early 90s, overall certainly decent for what it is.

The technological movie mishmash equivalent that feels like "Short Circuit"(1986)'s Johnny 5 and "WALL-E"(2008) had an intermediate version in "Evolver" with the twisted version of the "plot" of"Small Soldiers"(1998). The complete lack of charisma or charm from the majority of the human actors in the movie makes it a lot easier to root for the adorably murderous robot voiced by the talented William H. Macy. Worth a watch for fans of the niche genre of low-rent sci-fi R-rated kids movies.

I had a lot of fun with this movie, it has a good sense of humor.
