Like Placido three decades earlier, this is a fast paced, dialogue heavy, comedy of the absurd with heavy political overtones. Berlanga spares no one tearing down bureaucratic hypocrisies and poking fun in every direction. The relentless pace can get a little overwhelming but the comedy is so consistent that it's worth it.
