The story is given timeliness by placing the characters on a British merchant ship on the very day that World War II is declared. Thrilling scenario, not so thrilling execution. The problem is mostly with the script, for it has a fine cast and delivery. Not sure how well the crime story mixed with the war, except for that spectacular finish. Felt like they were trying to cover too much ground for a basic programmer.
