Not bad, but not too great either. Mainly of interest for fans of Budd Boetticher who went on to do much better work in Western genre. This war-time Noir has enough smoke machines to challenge Hammer horror films. It has a nice dream-like atmosphere, but the premonition element feels out of place. It's barely an hour long which doesn't allow much character development.

Very mediocre noir from Budd Boetticher, still credited as as Oscar Boetticher Jr. here. The plot hinges on a precognitive dream, not my favorite noir plot tool. Even with a short runtime of just an hour the movie drags. And it has a male lead, William Wright, of whom it is totally understandable he never made it into the big leagues. Luckily the female lead, Nina Foch, fares a bit better. The titular fog does give it a gloomy noirish mood.

Viewed November 7, 2021. Early and minor Boetticher. He's already utilizing his spare and atmospheric visual style within the guise of this B-movie espionage thriller (indeed, the titular fog makes for a few striking images), but the narrative doesn't go anywhere particularly interesting in its lean 65 minutes.

An alright war-time thriller, but lacked that extra something to make it interesting. Does have it's espionage moments, but apart from brief scenes of action this was missing that thing to make it exciting.

This is a simple yet face paced thriller that features a unique twist to the story. The acting is decent enough for what it is.

Good grade B spy thriller by Oscar Boetticher 5 years before he became "Budd." Nina Foch and Otto Kruger add class to the noir atmosphere
