Escape (1940) is a gallant early World War II movie from MGM and director Mervyn Leroy. Robert Taylor is as handsome a leading man gets and he carries himself real well in his role up against the wall of Nazi stubbornness. This film also signifies the first time Conrad Veidt plays his Nazi character on American soil. I found Escape a suspenseful drama about the stronghold the Nazi government. The performances are top notch and the hopelessness captured. Lacks perhaps a real classic moment.
