While Ernest Rides Again is like some Italian Neo-Realist bullshit. This is the French Tati comedy bullshit Ernest. Smart Ernest is an asshole. I appreciate that while they forgot to let Ernest know about a GED , but no one wants to watch Ernest sit in adult education classes, they did keep Ernest’s love interest age appropriate because this could’ve slipped into some Ernest / Paterno hellscape.
