It's a time travel and crime show so some of things don't make sense when you analyze them, but the writers do a better than average job of tying up those loose ends. I have some other things I'd like to say about the series, but everything I've typed, and then erased, gives something away, so I'm just going to leave it to the viewer to enjoy this excellent show from Japan.
