Ensilumi

Very decent coming of age refugee story that leans on a lot of generic elements but brings enjoyable touches of authenticity to the table. It's not a brilliant movie by any measure but its restraint and humility are very welcome and shockingly easy to overlook in this day and age when everything about this subject has to be politicized and dramatically overcharged to a grotesque degree. Laura Birn was a bit too "actory" but everyone else, including the child actors, were pretty good.

Very much on topic, all cast of the family is awesome. Did not convince me in the beginning, but then it gets better and better. A bit Korean feel as there are elements from various genres (comedy, tragedy and coming of age). Some inaccuracies as of the actual asylum process.
