What the hell, it turns into a horror halfway through, and the story is just so twisted throughout, the soundtrack is good and Brooke was nice. Acting overall was not very good. Also Tom cruise gets a line in this film- damn. And the ending, hahaha, try to imagine it without the music going on. Some psycho screaming and throwing you about saying you love him. After he burned down your fucking house

Love as a psychiatric disorder - very shrill, very confused, very contrived; I guess it's appropriate in a way, but it's close to unwatchable. Brooke Shields was hot though.

Who likes short shorts? Tom Cruise in this, for about a minute.

Featuring a 15-year-old Shields as a teenage boy's sex object with no other defining traits, hammy acting, an awful leading performance by Hewitt, a jumbled plot that's more and more soap-opera parody as it goes on, a runtime that's miles too long, and subplots that exist for very little reason, the best word to describe it is awful. A complete mess with absolutely nothing redeeming about it, it also features Shields' character getting abused by Hewitt's into loving him again. Yeah.

It's easy 2 see y this was controversial. Not only is underage Shields in a "nude" scene, its main theme is that teens in love not only know best, but are experiencing something truly magical that rational adults may never get back. Liberals won't be happy either since the guy wins Shields back by stalking & violently shaking the sh-t out of her. Still, the 2 leads actually deliver good performances, Shields is stunning 2 look at, & some may enjoy rubbernecking past its misguided ideas.
