En rachâchant

Crazily, the first Straub film I've enjoyed, probably because it's only seven minutes long. And it's funny! Maybe Duras is to thank?

If nothing else, En rachachant confirms that S/H did have a sense of humour, even though they only demonstrated it on the odd occasion, most notably in Sicilia! This short film about a disobedient child probably should have been expanded, but it's hard to tell whether it's an example of tired old 60's anti-authoritarian leftism--in this case, rebellion against the ideology of bourgeois education--or whether there is something else (i.e more interesting) in mind.

Maybe it's intentional, but the acting is really wooden and distracting. Other than that it is an interesting little skit.
