Marie Dressler was pure class! Mixes both the comedy and drama here as a whimsical old nanny full of love and care, only to get taken down by spoiled rich kids she loves. The movie relies heavily on Dressler herself, for apart from Jean Hersholt, the time he was there, the other characters feel too one-dimensional. That includes the bitchy Myrna Loy and the sweet Richard Cromwell who we are supposed to care for. Thankfully Dressler is full of life.
