Emergency

Watching the main characters make wrong decision after wrong decision for the first two thirds of the movie is infuriating and ends up making you root *against* them.

Propaganda.

“Emergency” is an important and necessary film that effectively explores complex issues facing minorities in our society. Despite its pacing issues and occasional lack of realism, the film's powerful performances and impactful final act make it a must-see.

A solid film. The main two actors did very well. A serious topic yet there was good comedic timing throughout as well. Some strong emotional moments also came through very sincerely. 6.8

Although I watched Emergency without any expectation, I came across a very powerful movie about racism. Both the comedy and serious aspects are very well blended. There were moments when I was as emotional as I laughed. Acting performances were also good.

Love the buddy aspects of it, the friendship in crisis while there is so much at stake -- an act of help that might actually mean getting killed or imprisoned --, the race dynamics in a college environment -- oh, nobody is racist, huh? Too bad the second half feels so convoluted and clumsy everytime it tries make already obvious things clearer. Good cast.

Yes! This! Entertaining, has a point, and delivers it really well. The premise, the acting, story.. Everything about this film is good. Well worth a watch. It is good at bringing up racism in a way to invoke discussion, but not too much in your face. A nuanced really good film.

Watkins is the best here, especially at the end when he breaks down, by Cyler has some charm. I like the dynamic/interactions between the two, but it doesn't hit the upper echelon of cinematic duos. I saw a review say that it's disturbing and unpredictable but I don't really agree. However, the script is amazing, the dialogue is fresh, authentic. Funny throughout (especially the beginning) and while that tapers off a bit at one point, the emotional beats that it replaces the humour with works.
