Not so good

I tried to watch it, but the acting/script was so juvenile... no success.

This wasn't so bad. The acting was alright and I do like the fact that no one was surprised that the one girl disappeared as if everyone knew that she was just trying to get out of town rather than the fate that actually awaited her. Not a lot of tension was built upm but the way they tried to build the tension reminded me of the Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer and movies of that nature. Could have been worse though.

*Spoilers* Not terrible, and has a few moments of really good suspense, but it suffers from some serious plotholes & character intelligence issues. It took you that long to go to the police? Why did the cop attack Sarah if he wasn't involved? And a cell phone that's still charged & active after 5 years? Really?

Elsewhere is a fine mystery-thriller, at least, once you get past the formulaic and uninteresting plot. It's well-shot, admirably performed, contains effective pacing and maintains a strong tone throughout. Now, if it could have only kept that enthusiasm when crafting our story. It's too predictable to be entrancing, which makes it suffer. Still, I'll take this film over so many wide released thrillers, as this one at least remains watchable throughout its running time.
