During the great Nordic war in 1719, the Swedes have occupied parts of Norway. During the retreat over Tydal mountains most freezes to death. However, some seek refuge in mountain huts. The farmers chase them. The Swede hater Sjur come on tracks of Per Jons, seeking refuge in a mountain hut where Sjur's daughter Eli is located. She takes care of the wounded Per and there is a love affair between them. A relationship which does not fall in well with her father.

A very simple Norwegian war movie from 1938. About the times when Norway and Sweden was at war and Norwegian mountain people could shoot any Swede in uniform they wanted to! Lots of shooting from long range by grumpy old folks. But in the center of it all is a romance between Sten Lindgren, a Swedish soldier on the run, and sweet Norwegian farm girl Sonja Wigert. It's a decent enough film in all it's simplicity, but the main selling point is Scandinavian nudity as Wigert goes skinny dipping!
