The same mechanisms that make us bond so powerfully with our children are the ones that render us disfunctional when they are taken away from us. And it can't really be any other way. Because there needs to be an incentive to look after the next generation. It's a shame that we cannot transpose that love to another human being, recycle it somehow,. It's too bad that we have to feel so broken and useless. So passionless adn numb. So utterly lost. It seems like such a waste.
