El hombre sin rostro

I enjoyed this even though it devolves into a few rather lengthy and gratuitous scenes between a pshychiatrist and patient, and there is just about no mystery at all. The whole thing is schlock in a high key, with some particularly expressive dream sequences, creating a heady atmosphere. Themes anticipate Psycho ten years later, although its a totally different kind of movie.

Juan Bustillo Oro's darker works are so haunting! Even when struggling to find it's narrative, he would always return to what made makes El hombre sin rostro [The Man Without a Face] (1950) chilling. That man without a face and the troubled detective. And that was enough for me to be thrilled with this creepy story.
