El doctor

A departure from Pitt's earlier painterly works, El Doctor employs a larger team of illustrators to create a series of vignettes based on the Mexican mythology of miracles. A man shot full of holes, a girl who grows flowers, an untangling of intestines and a woman with 100 babies. Extremely weird stuff. It's unfortunate that the title character is so empty and the thematic connection feels more diluted than it could have been. Heavy on "wow" visuals but lighter on message.
