Dark Spanish 60s comedy, I should watch more of these. I love the back and forth of the dialogue and the unrestrained characterizations that dig at the attitudes and false airs of every single character. Very good little farce with a few dark edges.

The Franco commentary isn't hard to pick up on, in a world where anyone can and will sell out anyone else. It seems like a fairly light comedy at first, but eventually goes to some really dark places. Isbert is terrific in the lead, devious and indignant and self-pitying (and really funny). The only thing that bothered me was there was a little much too rapid-fire people-talking-over-each-other dialogue. But it's a small complaint, and this is another unique and witty work by Ferreri.
