Thoughtful and deliberately paced; a warm, intelligent movie, escalated by Villegas' outstanding turn

Nice story, really liked the main character, he was innocent. It left me wondering how he got to the point the movie started at, like for example what happened to his wife. Seemed like his whole life was probably similar to the parts shown in the film.

Fairly slow moving and low key. The viewer is left to fill in much that is left unsaid. Very enjoyable but may not be for everyone.

An unassuming little film about the simple things in life - a man, his dog and the road. Although Sorin hints at some of the problems being faced in Patagonia... lack of employment, economic hardship and so on, the best thing about this film is it doesn't contain an ounce of cynicism. Juan Villegas does an amazing job, despite not being a professional actor. He's naive, he's trusting, you keep waiting for him to be screwed over, but amazingly it never happens. It's just a really lovely film.

Meandering road movie is frustratingly opaque in terms of what is revealed about its lead character and his back-story - while Villegas is a likable enough character, (presumably playing some version of "himself") he lacks the dynamism and presence to make you care one way or the other about him or his "adventure". Pleasant enough, but the lack of substance makes it a bit of a sleepy watch.
