Ehrengard: The Art of Seduction

Amazing performances. The story is... Buoyant. It bounces around. But the characters are really well-defined. Watch for the actors, stick through the story.

In a slightly fantastical old Denmark, a wager on seduction leads to aristocratic hijinks. Light and enjoyable, with pretty good characters and performances, and a story that moves along nicely. Whenever the main guy was speaking, and especially during the voiceover narration, to me it sounded like I was listening to Lars von Trier. “The Trout” as accompaniment, and, when the dramatic climax comes, once again it’s Beethoven’s 7th, 2nd movement.
