Edge of Madness

Admirable attempt to bring Alice Munro to the big screen for the first time, by a director I like (and a co-writer who'd tried on TV already), but the multiple perspectives of "A Wilderness Station" are rendered tedious, its epistolary form poorly translated into constant flashbacks with nagging POV issues (and shitty slo-mo). Worse, the story's strange and wonderful second half is jettisoned in favour of a blown-up version of the hinted-at romance that comes off like so much bad imitation Hardy
