Interesting fact: the movie title actually refers to how Eddie Murphy's skin felt after he took off the red leather outfit. ouch!

Seen: 2. It really is an extension of Delirious, the crude and rude included. Murphy's stand up is an 80s time capsule.

Passable set from Murphy is at least true to the worst aspects of his comic persona in the 80s - abrasive and largely meanspirited, though his impressions of Cosby and Pryor are the spot-on highlights (and have the ring of truth about them!) Never gets any better than the awesome title theme - with its heavy synth work, it deserved to be a genuine iconic 80s anthem!

Oppressively awful. I didn't know you could be this rude and still be this unfunny but then again I am a stranger to stand-up. At least the cameraman thought it was hysterical judging from the shakycam closeup nightmare.

Eddie Murphy has charisma and attitude and some skin-tight 80s fashion. His comedy, however, is in a word: raw. It hits once in a while, but for the most part I feel his standup in his skin-tight 80s heyday was just foreplay for a long night with as many post-show floozy's he could muster.

I enjoy Eddie Murphy and am no prude, but even this ten 21 year-old was overwhelmed by the language. It's hard to curse too much in front of a Brooklyn girl in Massachusetts!

Not nearly as good as "Delirious", most of the jokes go on faaaaarrrrr too long. Unlike the other one Eddie himself doesn't really seem to be having fun or have much energy either.

Fine stand up show, that lacks the satirical edge of the likes of Denis Leary or Sam Kinison, the observant nature of Mitch Hedberg or the uncomfortable truthfulness of George Carlin or Bill Hicks. This is the Eddie Murphy show, and like the suit he's sporting, it's a very entertaining historical document, from back when both were considered cool.

Those who say that Eddie Murphy used to be funny must be at least a bit hypocritical. He makes the same 'poop' and 'fuck' jokes now that he used to do in the 80's. The only difference is he didn't wear no fat lady suits back then. I'm not arguing, that's a big plus.

I was not impressed by his stand-up; in all actuality, it is not at all on the same tier of many other, better, comedians (although certainly leaps and bounds above his modern-day equivalent, Dane Cook). And since I hardly laughed at a film that relies on his jokes, it was barely an enjoyable experience.

It's tough to accept gay jokes from a guy in a skintight purple leather bodysuit. "What happened to Eddie"?! He was never that funny to begin with. I won't say that I didn't laugh at all, but most of it is painful to watch.

Wait, I'm not sure if I've seen this or Delirious. I know I've seen one of them, though, so let's just say it's this one. To be honest I don't actually remember that much of the performance itself all that clearly either, but I recall finding it funny. Then again I was probably like 12 when I saw it so who knows how I'd feel if I saw it today.
