A film record of the British part of Bob Dylan's turbulent world concert tour in 1966. Characterised by Dylan as an 'anti-documentary', the film alternates between scenes of Dylan on and off-stage, dramatised events, and interviews with fans and detractors after performances. (BFI)

Rough assemblage of footage is less a purposefully confrontational artistic statement than it is the sign of a novice and uncertain documentary maker, but it is hard to deny that this is a case where the subject trumps and redeems the form; feels like a home movie collage in most respects and while there is precious little insight to (or even appearance of) the 'real' Dylan, the close quarters observations provide their own interest, and the film succeeds as a successful record of the times.
