Ladies, I have next to no good information to impart upon you, but maybe don't fall for the guy that tried to secretly snap your photo while you were minding your own business in a foreign country. I'm not a licensed therapist or anything, it just seems like sound advice. I feel like I almost can't be wrong about it.

One could say Earthquake Bird is style over substance, but in terms of my tastes and the aesthetics I like this was pretty much spot on. I thought the decision to have it set in Japan made it more unique than if they had chosen somewhere more western. I also really enjoyed Alicia Vikander in this. Now I can see how some people might have problems with the screenplay, because its obviously the weakest part, but in the end it just didn't bother me as much as it did other people. IMO underrated.

Vikander inert as always, and the big japanese guy had us laughing out loud, he's completely out of his depth and moves awkwardly through ever scene! The title is a good indicator of how this is a failed movie, because i cannot find a way, even far-fetched symbolically, how the earthquake bird held any sway over the story at all. It just sounded cool i guess? Maybe i'm dumb. Probably. Riley Keough is, as usual, a glimmer of light in this gloomy Netflixmess.

In true Netflix (wildly inconsistent) fashion, this one was a letdown. I love Alicia Vikander, and probably only watched it for her, but this was just really dull. The setting in Japan was an interesting choice and probably made the film slightly more interesting. The lead actor though (formerly a member of a pop-dance group) felt a little like he was out of his depth and really struggled to be convincing with such a pivotal role. Felt like it had great elements, so a disappointment overall.

A total waste of time. You can see the whole thing, though.
