A very safe for family viewing sci-fi adventure that doesn't quite cut it for adults. The effects and the adventure are some of the best points of the film. The problem is the over-use of shaky camera and the story is rather simple.

I had really hoped to like this more but it seemed to be missing something. It's like a collage of older kids movies and found film movies. They also never really used the "echo" alien enough, I never connected with it and didn't really seem all the much interacting of the characters with him to explain the emotions presented at the end.

Everything about this movie is either completely implausible or blatantly derivative. But it's fun.

This film is so unbelievably forgettable that I can't think of a single line or image from it. I do, however, remember being astounded at how terrible it was when I saw it.

Take the premise of 'The Goonies', combine it with the plot of 'E.T.' and film it in the style of 'Paranormal Activity' and you end up with Earth to Echo. The kids are quite annoying, and commit numerous felonies, but there are moments when they come together and the film shows that it has potential. Unfortunately, aside from a few pretty visuals, this film offers nothing new and doesn't have the heart to compete with its predecessors.

Target audience is pretty young, but it was still a fun ride as an adult.

Every point in my score is for the cute robot thingy and how they almost got hit by a semi.

Not a good film, although there are cute moments. Nowhere near as good as Super 8 or The Explorers, the movie it most reminded me of.

Ideal for 12 to 14 year old audience. The story is about three boys who find a small cute robot alien and help him find his spaceship so he can return home. It was very far fetched and mostly unconvincing as the kids outsmart and outrun the bumbling authorities. A good film for children, but only mildly entertaining otherwise. Special effects were especially unconvincing. Good music and reasonable acting from the kids.

I spent most of this film wishing I didn't know exactly where it was going. Echo is executed pretty well, but no one will care beyond 2014.

There are definitely better childrens sci-fi movies out there. This isnt bad but I just found the hand held camera and 1/3 of the cast incredibly annoying! Visually this film looks great and I really liked the idea of the plot but everything felt repetitive. Once the adventure starts, the sense of mystery is captivating and you are happy to see the movie through to its conclusion. Its highly unlikely this will be the start of a new franchise and im not sure this will be a hit with kids.

A watchable Chronicle-meets-E.T. adventure that probably works best for those unfamiliar with the inspiration texts. Likeable, intriguing atmosphere, though, and the young kids at the movie's center do a very nice job.

Walked out during the arcade scene because it was the same exact scene as the previous three scenes.

Cutesie early coming of age movie that harkens somewhat back to the found footage film, "Chronicle", without the dark side--and a cheap "ET".

This blatant clone of E.T. presents little new to the formula. What it does do is give us some good characters to care about and some intriguing visual effects. Decent little film.

So it seems that sometimes the things that we think go without saying should be said. If the engaging, old-fashioned adventure of an alien and the kids who help it seems like good fun for your family, take the time afterwards to talk through the issues of blatant deception, dangerous activities, criminal capers and underage drinking. And if your kids think all that sounds like a tiresome echo of everything you've already said time and time again, then all the better. (pluggedin.com)

A cute, reasonably clever little E.T./BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED-style kidflick. High-spirited, upbeat, and not too traumatizing, both buoyed and kept at arm's length a little by the whip-cam, pseudo-documentary approach. My kids seemed really into it when it was unfolding, but I'm fairly sure they forgot all about it on the drive home.
