Clifton Webb, who did dabble in silent film back in the day, none of which I've seen, didn't really hit it big until his return to Hollywood well into the talkies, plays a respectable school teacher who's dirty little secret is that he was once a silent film heartthrob. Mocks silents, mocks TV, mocks Webb. Turns into a delightful movie thanks to it's characters.
