Dream Lover

I’m a sucker for any of these psychosexual Freudian thriller/horror stuff. Is it as good as like Hitchcock doing it of course not but given that it got made much later it certainly can showcase what hitch could only really dream of at the time. The nightmare sequences really make this worth checking out and loved the colours on them. For like trying to cash in on like the de Palma/general sexual thriller genre it’s not without its merits

Abysmal thriller. Intensely unsettling film with an interesting idea torpedoed by snail-like pacing and sterile atmosphere. What Hitchcock could have done with this!

Much more effective than it should be

Almost worth watching for the ridiculous conceit of Kristy McNichol as a jazz flute player... for musicians, the scene where she's jamming with her combo is unintentionally hilarious. A rather strange little thriller.
