The biggest waste of a talented (in other movies, that is) cast, director, and decent budget I have probably ever seen. Any surrealist touches you might be expecting from hearing about the movie are kept to a minute of dream sequence. The main problem is the writing, though, it's just unbelievably horrendous; everything is plotted around the twist (the first, predictable, and the next, jarringly stupid). So poorly constructed that I doubt I'll ever forget it. And that really sucks.

Not as awful as it's made out to be, but still pretty lame. The first half actually shows some promise, as it takes on a more understated and subtle tone instead of constantly going for the jump-out-of-your-seat moments most contemporary thrillers tend to worship. After the plot twist however, all tension dries up and the film gets progressively duller and dumber until a truly ridiculous final act. Expected better from Sheridan.

Eh, the movie had a house in it I guess. The police in this movie are all 50 year old fat men. "No, that's ridiculous" You're right on that one Mr Craig. I bet the makers of this were told about Shutter Island and were all "AW FUCK". Oh and another thing ... what the fuck is with the end credit music, what were they thinking? WHAT

Notable for the spoiler of a trailer, the disowning and disparaging of the film by its director and leads, and nothing else.

Just once I'd like to see a ghost movie where it turns out that literally everyone who ever appears on screen was dead the whole time and it turns out they were just doing a community play or something. It would be a community of the damned, but that should go without saying.

Maybe, as the closing suggests, "Dream House" WAS a good book that just got botched up when they made it into a movie.

Not the worst Craig film I've seen this year (only by the tiniest margin), this is definitely another title to add to his stinker list.

An absolute atrocity of M. Night Shyamalan-esque plot devices and empty, meaningless narrative methods. The stacked cast of Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts, and Rachel Weisz are completely wasted and led to give one-sided, static emotional performances reminiscent of what you might see in a cheesy, soap-opera mystery. The movie twists and twists until all of its potential complexities and themes are unwoven into a showing of simple, antiquated, and predictable suspense-less fluff.

they struggled keeping it interesting after a first reveal, though I gave points for the originality of going from stalker to going crazy to supernatural themes + rando killer. It's a mix you don't often see in... well these genres

Boring and not even the least bit scary as it was marketed as some sort of 'horror" movie. The twists in the story are stupid and Daniel Craig's American accent in this is quite frankly embarrassing.

Figured the twist out in the first scene. Also, you kind of need the main dude in this kind of thing to be a pussy. Having recently seen Daniel Craig kill a dude with a nail clipper, I have doubts about him being an emotionally fragile house husband. Craig did nothing uncraiglike, so the movie sort of seemed awkward. I like the dude and think he's a good actor, don't get me wrong, but he needs to babystep out of his badass status.

This is one of those thrillers that I simply don't get. It's contrived and for the most part boring, no one's really surprised by the twists and everything is mediocre. I always get a bit of entertainment when Koteas is on screen and I shout "Casey Jones" lovingly, seriously that guy is awesome.

Not a single remarkable thing about this movie. Daniel Craig was pretty boring in this and was possibly in competition with Rachel Weisz for the most boring character. Naomi Watts was hardly in this long enough to be worth a mention. The "twist" was revealed in the first half of the movie towards the middle and once the cat had been let out of the bag the movie just got stagnant. The coolest thing about this movie might have been the movie poster. Otherwise, it's a real yawn.

A cloddish, Shyamalan-ish SHUTTER ISLAND knockoff, stuffed with wanna-be eerie booga-booga moments that are just nonsensical (and insulting, if you think about them too much). It's kind of surprising to see class actors like Craig, Weisz, and Watts--and a generally adept director like Sheridan--floundering around in such a weak, reticent, small-time genre dud like this one. Forget it; I'm sure they already have.

Naomi Watts, and even Daniel Craig are completely wasted here. The plot is generic for the first half, and then a bad version of Shutter Island for the second half. At least the twist kept things different, but even with that it was pretty boring. The worst Jim Sheridan movie I've seen thus far by quite a bit. The dialogue is pretty bad - laughable at times.

Nicely started drama went wrong as soon as the viewer realized what was really going on. The rest of the story was baloney. Both small girls acted good, though the fever scene was not that successful.

At times Dream House is an intriguing psychological horror movie. At others its a bland and confusing thriller. The film's terrible third act, expository finish and ridiculous action movie ending tip the scales enough into negative territory to warrant a Thumbs Down.
