Two interlaced stories unfold over the course of the same long, hot day in a resort town of Acapulco. The first involves Fernanda, who is forced to deal with the sudden emergence of her ex-lover. Her current boyfriend must compete with the intense sexual tension that Fernanda and her ex-love share. The second story concerns Jamie, an office worker with hidden indiscretions, attempting suicide in a beachfront hotel until a precocious and equally dishonest teenage girl disrupts his plans. Rougher around the edges than I'm Gonna Explode, but even more compelling. Naranjo is quickly becoming one of my favorite new filmmakers, and along with Alexis Dos Santos makes a strong case for Mexico as one of the most exciting film scenes around. Like De Santos, Naranjo has a strong fascination with youth, almost akin to a more empathetic Larry Clark. Even more so the youthful exuberance is reflected in the filmmaking itself, which almost seems intoxicated on the possibilities of cinema.

una de las nuevas propuestas del cine mexicano, directores jovenes y prometedores, intentan descubrir un estilo propio, y en esta cinta empieza experimentando con formas narrativas no "convencionales"
