I watched Dracula die and melt away to some lunatics cocaine fueled horns. Hammer is trying to appeal to those hip cats who wear bell bottoms and kiss people on the lips when they're awake and it's all the things wrong with this movie. The opening and ending, which are the parts where we're not having cocaine blown up our asses by hippies are so good and strong and stuff.

After fourteen years, this movie is an odd juncture to get Lee and Cushing back together. But it's clear that Hammer was trying to have some kind of renaissance by the contemporary setting and the hippie kids and some trendy, now long forgotten, band. The result was behind the times in 1972, but now it's borderline hilarious. It's almost like a Scooby-Doo movie that decided it wanted to actually be scary, but did so incompetently.

It's actually pretty funny.Like a dad who just noticed a generation gap between his kids and himself, so he just desperately tries to latch on to as much youth culture crap as he can without ever understanding its appeal, or what's bad and what's good. The really funny part is that the movie would be a pretty good Dracula flick if it was set in the traditional Victorian era, instead of cynically pandering to a fanbase Hammer no longer had.

I like the pre-credit scenes and found them a nice set up for the movie however the party scene directly afterwards was complete and utter garbage and had me wanting to turn it off, I mean it just went on and on and wouldn't end it must've lasted 10 minutes. Once again Dracula is barely in this thing, I swear if you put all the Dracula scenes from all 8 of the Dracula Hammer films together it wouldn't even be 60 minutes worth of film. Christopher Neame was suitably creepy and sinister in this an

Going in, I was expecting a cheesy fish-out-of-water, "we're out of ideas" horror crap fest like Jason Takes Manhattan, where a famous horror icon is put into an unfamiliar environment with zany results. What I got instead was a pretty decent Dracula story with a surprisingly suitable setting. I especially enjoyed Cushing. But the movie has two fatal flaws: horribly out of place music that ruins the mood, and a disturbing lack of Dracula. He was in, maybe, five scenes.

So I'm pretty sure Austin Powers borrowed its soundtrack from this movie. While fitting in some scenes, groovy 70s music really doesn't work for vampire fight scenes & satanic rituals. But I guess that's camp for ya.

I love a film where one of the villains is Dracula's name spelled backwards. This feels like someone heard about hippies from Austin Powers, and then wrote an entire film about it. I found this film pretty groovy, baby, yeah!

It seems Hammer Studios wanted to have 1 last battle royale between fan favorites Cushing & Lee, but also hoped to appeal to the college-age crowd of the day, which means this is as cheesy as you get. Unfortunately it's not fun cheese, but a slowly paced vampire film filled w/ hippies & a 70's soundtrack that's completely at odds w/ horror. While one hopes to take pleasure from watching Lee kill boorish young idiots, the film fails to deliver even on that letting a henchman do most of the work.

Is this a horror, or a comedy? Worst/ most inappropriate soundtrack ever. Might be watchable with a different one because, although dated with the hippie crap, the film isn't terrible.

An apt take down of hippie culture. Of course the hippie generation are the ones that brings back a powerful symbol of the bourgeoisie. The idea is a little strained and the visuals have that dull 70's look that plagues a lot of movies of that era. A loooooot more sexual. Lotta shots of titties. Again the ending is so much fun. This one is definitely more camp. Cushing is great Seems almost like an SNL sketch movie or something.
