Horrific gore gets coupled with even more horrific puns. The doctor is in...sane. One of the best worst taglines ever. Nineties horror is a veritable minefield.

Larry Drake being paid by the one liners. This was talked about in hushed tones on the schoolyard when it came out and ... the 90s were absolutely awful.

This is absolute garbage, but had a couple of things I liked: 1) Drake's magnificent face, and 2) A bit where someone emerges quite unexpectedly from something. The cast actually aren't too bad, but this is drivel. I initially thought the music was Danny Elfman slumming it, but it was Brian May (not the one from Queen). Watch this if you like Larry Drake's face and abhorrent medical-flavoured puns. Fun 90s horror dross.

Another failed attempt to create a new horror icon and thus perpetuate the 80's slasher franchise model into the 90's, despite waning interest. A few stylish moments and a game turn by Drake can't disguise the fact that it's a rather undisinguished genre piece, and even the black comic puns delivered with gusto by Drake, accompanied by an odd helium laugh, reek of Freddy Krueger imitation. Combs is very bland as the female lead, and the death scenes are generally uncreative.

After a promising asylum-set surgical sequence, this unimaginatively sicko pic quickly degenerates into a typical slashed-teens throwback as our demented amateur medico employs his trusty tools to carve out an admittedly impressive body count (final tally: Dr. Giggles 16, Townsfolk 1). Drake's dialogue is limited to largely lame, sub-Freddy Krueger one-liners (some truly antique). There's also a flashback wherein the young Dr. G slices his way out of his late mater's body

Dumb as all hell, but at least it's self-aware and has a couple of amusingly cheesy moments. Not as annoying as I expected it to be, frankly, but far from worthwhile

Larry Drake should have been allowed to play this character in a whole franchise. He was hilarious. Also some things you can never unsee, such as a kid cutting his way out of his dead mother. Goofy slasher movie fun, to the max.

Finally got around to this one. Larry Drake is great, and the first half is a fun ride that moves along quickly and features some good kills. But the second half drags really, really bad- it's like they ran out of ideas while putting the script together and just made some stuff up while they went. Jennifer isn't a very interesting heroine despite the heart defect thing. The puns are corny but in a good way, although by the end they get a bit grating. Decent, but missing something.

No redeeming value in this generic and weak slasher.

Too familiar to be of much interest, with the usual flip comic asides and obnoxious teenage characters, but Combs is pretty, Drake gives it the ol' college try, and there is one standout scene involving a woman's corpse and a little boy in hiding.

Pretty terrible all around. Some entertaining death scenes and a fun character as the killer. Pretty cliche slasher.

Worth watching for Larry Drake, who I can watch in pretty much anything...aside from that, it's typical (continuation from 80's) slasher fare with a medical twist.
