Ridiculously plot set-up for what's purely a mindless entertainer with song and silly comedy. They picked many good characters underneath making it a smile maker. Not as sold on the romantic lead and how the whole courtship went about, but the others knew how to make one laugh a little. Must be one of the weirder gigs John Carradine ever took.
