Doug's 1st Movie

There's two eras of Doug. First is the Nicktoons era in which Doug was a classic flawed-yet-likable protagonist and the pre-teen level situations were usually approached with an unusual wit and even a nice dash of absurd humor. Second is the Disney era in which the wit and absurd humor were replaced with insanely boring moralizing and cheap, instantly replaceable humor that's interchangeable with any other Disney offering. This movie is pure Disney's Doug. This was a lot to write about Doug.

Bangin...ON A TRASH CAN

Commits the biggest sin a kids' movie can; it's boring. The direct-to-video roots are on full display here -- this feels like an extra-long episode of Doug, with less jokes. It could have been an amusing diversion, but, unfortunately, Doug Funnie just ain't funny.

Bland and lackluster.

Doug's 1st Movie is a cliche-ridden, unfunny mess that never quite justifies its existence.

It's pretty much just a long episode. If you're not a fan (or haven't watched the series in years), the movie doesn't try to catch you up.

Even though it was based on the Disney Doug I thought it was still awesome.

I liked the show but I remember questioning my tastes when I watched this in the cinema...
