Doughnuts and Society was the last film made by Mascot Pictures before the final merger into Republic Pictures. And it's a society comedy which had a lot of promise, except all is too rushed and the comedy too slapstick based to reach the level it should have with such a cast of having Maude Eburne, Louise Fazenda, Hedda Hopper and Franklin Pangborn all work together! Can still be enjoyable if you're in the mood for a B-comedy and want to see Eburne set free from just doing support acting.
