Hitchcocks psychological musings as a sociological essay, looks good but fails to convince.

In bringing Hitchcock's subtext to the fore, it manages to be a tad too obvious and its meta flourishes don't hit the mark, but this formally engrossing cinematic essay manages to eviscerate television's tendency to reduce everything to entertainment and conjure up a fair amount of dread.
