It's still pretty funny to this day but I really wouldn't Donna to be Daisy, she's more like a cousin or something.

Donna (who, apparently, was not originally supposed to be Daisy but the characters ended up being merged) is a quite strong female character, uncharacteristic of the time. By essentially being Donald's female counterpart she adds an interesting element to the mix. Not that Don Donald is a grand feminist statement or anything, but it's decent.
