TimeCasule is my name, and writing motherfuckin' little movie reviews is my game!!! But something tells me that the punch this rhyme packs ain't quite the same, cause when compared to that B.A.M.F. Dolemite, my rhymes are just way too lame. Now Rudy Ray Moore is far from the blame, since he wields the word motherfucker like it was Mjölnir, of Marvel fame. Being worthy of this power is something I could never claim, so it's probably best I stop this rhyming gimmick before I'm overcome with shame

Rudy Ray Moore’s usage of “motherfucker” is akin to Michelangelo taking his chisel to a slab of marble.

Quintessential 70s blaxploitation flick...it's got horrible production values, bad acting, bad editing, the barest wisp of a plot, cheesy kung fu fights, an awesome soundtrack, titties galore and the greatest collection of pimp hats ever assembled in a single film. Rudy Ray Moore says "motherfucker" about 100 times.

Deliciously wrong and inept in so many ways. The crappy production values, acting skills and 'action' scenes only add to the experience. If you're playing a drinking game and take a swig during every shot where the boom mic can be seen, you will DIE.

I haven't seen many black exploitation films But I think this certainly ranks up there as one of the great ones Just to see Dolemites stand up alone is worth it

I think Dolemite actually has a verbal tic where he just has to add 'motherfucker' to sentences, whether they need it or not. He also doesn't seem to understand how ghosts actually work.

Fun blaxploitation film with good lines and memorable scenes and a truly WTF club scene about...nature? Poor editing such as characters disappearing midscene but I choose to view that as positively hilarious. Fav scene: inspirational speech at the karate dojo: "I'm gonna let 'em know that Dolemite is back on the scene! I'm gonna let 'em know that Dolemite is my name, and fuckin' up motherfuckers is my game!"

At times so-bad-it's-good, mostly just bad, even boring. But like sometimes you're just laughing at the movie and the people who made it so hard. And nothing makes any motherfucking sense.

Absolutely inept, incompetent filmmaking but it's not without charm. The sound mix is atrocious and barely comprehensible at times.

This is the role that Rudy Ray Moore was born to play! The script is ridicules but there are so many over the top fun moments. There are plenty of laughs and funny characters in this movie. Overall I would recommend this film.

Has its moments of "so bad it's good," but mostly it's just bad. Bad acting, bad writing, bad action scenes, bad directing, and a lot of dull moments. Only the occasional laugh at the ineptness makes it bearable.

Truth be told, I don't remember much of this as I was playing "The Dolemite Drinking Game" whilst watching. What I remember was pretty damn hilarious though and its influence is undeniable.

This was an amazing introduction to blaxploitation for me. Rudy Ray Moore's crazy performance was the highlight, delivering many laughs. While his "raps" missed the mark, the low-budget charm of the film made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Not a cinematic masterpiece, but definitely a fun ride.

Give me Dolemite over any of your so-called superheroes any day. We should be living in the DCU and not the MCU (and no, I don't mean DC comics!!).

Despite the bad acting, godawful action scenes, Moore's long-winded "toasts" that are anti-climactic & the best looking women being wasted in non-speaking roles, I won't grade this as harshly as I might since, Rudy Ray Moore, if nothing else, had the wherewithal to take advantage of a movie market which lacked black heroes & get this profoundly amateurish production into theaters. Unfortunately, except for kung-fu prostitutes, there isn't anything here that's so-bad-its-good either.

Amusing but only really comes alive when Moore does his thing at the club. The alternate spoken-word musical cut that doesn't exist is my favourite movie.

When there isn't a long, drawn-out monologue/conversation that you can't even understand due to the poor sound mixing, it's very entertaining. So many shots with the boom mic visible

About 1/3rd entertaining action and comedy, and 2/3rds boring, dragged-out plot and monologues. Still, when it works it works.

owning this on DVD is one of my guiltiest pleasures. It's so bad on so many levels, yet the pleasure it gives me is insane. It has a level of charm all it's own, Not for everyone to be sure, but I happily admit to not being normal

Okay, it's better than Petey Wheatstraw, at least. It would be difficult to enumerate all the ways this movie is bad, but it does tend more towards the "so bad it's good" variety. Which can be entertaining, and there is a sort of gloriousness to the amateur writing, acting, and production. However, I don't find Rudy Ray Moore's schtick very funny, and there are a number of dull patches. And "so bad it's good" is still... well, bad. Kind of fun, not as fun as I'd hoped for.

The dialogue is hilarious. I also love the fact that you can see the mic in so many scenes. Black Dynamite was better than this though. So so many flaws, but this movie is so bad, it's quite funny. Guy: By the way, who're you waitin' for anyway? Girl: I'm waitin' for Dolemite! Guy: For who? Dolemite: Dolemite, motherfucker, ya heard?

The boom mic deserves its own credit the amount of time it spends on screen - not a professional or high budget affair. You're gonna have a good time with this one.

So I finally got around to watching this movie and it was so much more than I was expecting. It's really terrible but as bad as it is, it's equally entertaining. Also, the damn boom mike is almost a costar.

Probably the worst blaxploitation movie ever. Now, I know what you're thinking and yes, it does suck harder than "Abar, The First Black Superman". It does have its' moments of campy charm, though.

"Way down in the jungle deep, the badass lion stepped on the signifyin' monkey's feet. The monkey said 'muthaf*cker, can't you see? You standin' on my goddamn feet!" This was probably the second worst of all the blaxploitation flicks of the '70s - Blackula is the WORST, bar none - but the poetry and pimpsuit kung fu of Rudy Ray Moore is worth the rental. I agree with Stain, though...total fodder for white supremecist groups. Classically so-bad-it's-hillarious.
