A dozen different souls-all moving in different directions, all longing for something more. As their lives unexpectedly intersect, they each are about to discover there is power in the Cross of Christ ... even if they don't yet believe it. When a local pastor is shaken to the core by the visible faith of an old street-corner preacher, he is reminded that true belief always requires action. His response ignites a faith-fueled journey that powerfully impacts everyone it touches. (imdb)

God Is Dead was aimed at Christians to help seal the cracks in the shell of their faith egg formed by the relentless tapping of the spoon of reason. This film seeks to harden the egg itself from the enemy within - the chicken foetus of doubt by fortifying the shell and thickening the albumin with examples of how one cannot function without faith and that with maximum faith comes the ultimate reward of the total cure of terminal cancer following a brief period of being dead. This actually happens

Here's the thing ... I think this film's morality is wildly uneven and it's politics are bullshit. I think that's true of most films. I'm not inclined to be too harsh on a film for having one strain of politics I think are fundamentally wrong. It's not a good film, but it's a blandly okay film.

Always good for a laugh to see how lame they make these Christianity motivated movies. It's like religion has exclusive rights to good deeds and unexpected life changes. Do You Believe? (2015) fulfills all the shortsighted clichés one expects from dramas in this genre, and got a handful of washed-up actors like Cybill Shepherd, Lee Majors and best of all the skirt-chaser from Married with Children, Ted McGinley, as a man of the church!

At times those dramatic sermon illustrations intentionally cross over into melodrama, as if to more directly drive their points home. And as many movies (and especially Christian movies) often do, Do You Believe? ties up its narrative loose ends in something akin to happily ever after--something that doesn't always happen quite so quickly in real life.
