Very smart, slickly produced action flick. The choreographing here is outstanding. However, the film feels a little dry - it just seems to lack a charm, wit, something, to set it apart. Plot-wise, very similar to a Jackie Chan film.

Some absolutely amazing action and fight scenes. David Belle's acting doesn't detract from the film in any way, which is a real plus given that he isn't a trained action. The plot and subtitling are decent enough to not detract from the film so you can enjoy the amazing action without being insulted. It's a lot of fun!

This movie takes place in the future, not so much as a plot convenience, but simply because looking at what Belle and Raffaelli can do with their bodies, it is impossible to believe they could really exist in our world. These two have completely weaponized themselves, and the things they can do are surreal. The movie's problem, is that it doesn't let them do those things near enough. There is too much cliche story, and once you've seen what these guys can do, you won't care about anything else.

Tremendously exciting. Belle's insane stuntwork (along with the folks who are undoubtedly his posse of friends) gave me the same thrill of seeing an old Jackie Chan movie for the first time. Plotwise, nothing fancy, but who's watching it for the story?

Superb action scenes, unfortunately they all took place at the beginning of the movie. Ultimately this is a film that takes itself too seriously, something I wouldn't expect from Luc Besson. I look forward to any more movies from the two stars, however.

District 13 is a really good action crime movie. The parkour is really amazing. After watching this and the movie Taxi, I really need to be watching more French action movies.
The actors all did a pretty good job. The two main characters played cold, heartless machines pretty well, but I'm not sure there is much acting prowess in that job. The girl who played the main guy's sister was cute, but she wasn't really a character.
It was a good action SciFi movie and we need more of these.

Overall Enjoyment: 10/40, Plot/Themes: 5/20, Cinematography/Direction: 10/20, Acting/Writing: 5/20 Since this is the type of movie you watch because of the martial arts this normally wouldn't be a problem. Except the martial arts and the parkour both suck. If you want bad plot but amazing action Tony Jaa does it much better.

The best Parkour movie ever! Incredible action sequences and breath taking stunts. High marks since the movie claimed it used no wires for the stunts, which I personally believe isn't such a bad idea since wire driven stunts have almost become the norm as of late. Its Incredibly fast paced, typical of a Luc Besson-Pierre Morel flick, but fits perfectly with the just as fast ways of Parkour.

Best chase scenes in recent memory. Pretty good fight scenes too. The story is ridiculous but enjoyable, maybe it helps if you "get" the whole French gangster rap scene they are playing off. Flaws: the characters are not very likeable, and the acting hardly the finest... but it's the kind of movie where that stuff is not to be taken seriously. Various scenes only exist to patch up gaps in the story, so it can get from one set piece to the next. But boy, its trump cards are thrilling ones!

A parkour combo of Escape from New York, Gymkata, and any Jackie Chan movie, let's say Rumble in the Bronx. The plot is old hat (and has a couple of gaping holes) and the dialogue is laughable, but surprisingly the acting isn't that bad. The social commentary is a nice try, but not very satisfying. What matters here is the action, which is teriffic at first, but slows down more and more as the film progresses. Would have been better if they'd manage to keep the adrenaline going.

Lean and mean, yet exciting popcorn fare mostly featuring parkour chases through urban Paris. Sexy co-star Dany Verissimo is an ex-porn starlet previously known as Ally Mac Tyana. The scene where she strips off her panties and shoves them down a guy's throat, all while pointing a gun in his face is disturbingly hot.
