The print I saw was pretty damaged, but the claustrophobic atmosphere of 13 German soldiers being isolated waiting for the French to attack still managed to take a hold. An absolute draw that Conrad Veidt features so prominently in such a scenario, where mostly song serves as release for the desperate situation. Not a bad piece of German patriotism before the Nazi era.
