Die bian

I felt like this was a sequel and I missed all the backstory. It's martial arts horror with killer butterflies (?!). The version I watched (on Tubi) had subtitles that I fear were not very good, as there were incorrect words used and some very clunky constructions. This might have been part of the issue, but I generally found it very difficult to figure out and remember who was who and why they were doing things.

A mix of mystery, horror and action, and I'm not sure any of those facets are well done. The subs are mediocre, so that doesn't help, but the whole thing is kind of a plodding mess with a mix of intentional obfuscation and terrible exposition. It's a cool premise, from what I can make out, and certainly has some bright spots, but a failure on the whole.
