I've not seen many films from German director Gerhard Lamprecht, but what I have seen I've liked. A common theme for his films in the 1920s was poverty and social struggle in during the Weimar era. And that's clearly the theme of In The Slums Of Berlin as well. Though not as interestingly told as in Die Unehelichen (1926) and Unter der Laterne (1928). Still an dreary look at the vibrant life of Berlin. Sadly not much sticks with you as they should and it tips over to being half-boring.
