With Richard Oswald directing there is a hint of that German Expressionism in a few of the scenes, but unfortunately this is a routine troubled romance which plays it safe. Lead actors Grete Mosheim & Gustav Fröhlich are alright, but you can't help but feel they're not 100% into their characters and the story turns average because of it.
