The young woman, Nina, works as a singer at a Copenhagen variety, but when her contract expires, she is suddenly without an income for herself and her old mother. When she sees an ad in the newspaper looking for singers for a theater in St. Petersburg, Nina strikes - a few weeks later she leaves. It turns out, however, that she has been tricked and she ends up in a notorious brothel instead. She fears that all hope is gone.

In the silent days there was a series of film on white slave trade. Or human trafficking as it would be called today. This is actually the third movie in the The White Slave Trade series, and is directed by Urban Gad. Focuses on a young girl called Nina, who receives a fake letter and is kidnapped. What happens next is not that exciting. Just her man going searching for her, while the criminals tries to get her abroad for a weak climax.
