Relied too heavily on voice actors, although it could be I don't understand how animated films work.

Harmless fun I suppose but not overly enjoyable. But hey, I'm not really the intended demographic so I can't really complain too much. Probably fun for kids and fans of the franchise but a little overly formulaic for anyone older.

Watch: At home. | This doesn't have the same magic of the first one, but it does cater to the people who love the second one and the Minions movie.

It's really all over the place with every main character having their own subplot everything feels rushed. Still, it has a few minor laughs and I'm still in the staunchly supporting minions camp. Yes, they are everywhere but that happens with kids movies. Besides they are some of the few characters in animation that are doing anything remotely cartoonish.

Predictable, disjointed, best parts were in the trailers. Basically your typical kids movie.

Needed more Trey Parker, less Jenny Slate, Steve Carrell, and Minions - I swear the only joke with them now is "Hey, they're Minions!" Illumination is maybe the most annoying studio in animation today.

I enjoyed this one more than the second, but probably mostly because of the Bratt character plot more-so than the Dru plot.

Starts abruptly, ends abruptly, and seems to have way less charm than the two previous ones. It feels more phoned in, it sorts of erases past development too as well by setting up some lame conflicts/journey for the characters. The new setting detaches further from the family life theme of the previous movies

Loved Trey Parker and his playful scenes in this. I picked his voice out immediately. There are some good elements here for a paycheck movie, but nothing really adds up to much.

Ehhh. I enjoyed parts of it for sure but it feels contractually obligated. The magic of the first one has dissipated. Hopefully the target audience got more of a kick out it.

This felt like a reach. The second movie I felt was as good as the first, but this story just kind of felt forced and the addition of a brother didn't really add much of anything to the story. If anything a focus on Lucy being accepted as a Mom would have been a better focus, and the villain was enjoyable as well. I just felt the losing job and long lost brother elements of the story were not very good. You also felt a distinct lack of minions in this movie as well.

Trey Parker as Bratt is my favorite part of this film by far but pacing issues and a very erratic script seem to make his scenes feel few and far between. It is a series that tries to stay relevant thanks to the cultural explosion that happened with the minions; What the writers and creators are not realizing is that audiences are just not just the kids. It falls apart during the typical kids themes playing out during the second and third act.

I'll admit that I enjoyed Dru, but overall this movie was the weakest in the franchise and I think it's time to put this series to bed.

Trey Parker's Balthazar Bratt is the highlight here. He capitalizes on the current 80s popularity craze in a way that lampoons it at the same time. The rest is a by-the-numbers, slapstick kids movie that appeals to the highlights and memorable character behaviors of the previous movies.

Like the Minions before it, this movie gives us too much of a good thing. The minions are cute and funny in small doses but just get annoying after awhile. The biggest problem here is that there's no story to tell and everything is starting to feel old and worn including the jokes. Lucy sadly was the best part of this terribly average film.

I just had no real interest left in this series at this point. I don't care about the characters or what happens to them. I mean, the little girls are cute, but that's it. The Minions are annoying and no longer funny at all. It was cool to have Trey Parker in this, but his character was a complete cliché. The animation's fine and everything, but the movie just didn't do anything new in the context of the series or beyond.

Wasn't that many laughs, was there? It was still a great success in our home with all of us being entertained, especially by the twin with more beautiful hair and whatever the Minions were up to. I might be in the minority, but I'd rather have a new Minions movie. Don't shoot!

This never really needed a sequel, let alone two, so with that in mind, this is okay for what it is. It at least felt better than the second one and at time goes back to what made the original pretty good. But unfortunately the film concentrates on the human characters with a take-it-or-leave-it type plot and there's not enough of the minions to counter-balance that.

Too many subplots that go nowhere and serve no purpose making the film directionless and what plot there is, under-explored and unsatisfying. The girls themselves have been miscast, and the goat thing? What was the point of that?. Finally, if there was proof that another Minions movie would be an unbelievably stupid idea, their boring and uninspiring antics in this film should convince you.

Those are the kinds of things that make these goofy characters feel just a bit more genuine. They make us grin and think about the precious feelings we hold for the little "minions" in our own lives. And, hey, they might even cause some of us to sigh out a heartfelt "ba-na-na" or two, while we're at it.

It's cute to watch with family, but that's about it. If you want to enjoy/appreciate it, that's how I'd recommend you to watch it. Beyond that - it's not really funny, the story goes all over the place and nothing is particularly at focus. Dru seems pointless - "let's just add something to differ the movie from the previous ones, but still not pay enough attention to it. Meh, I suppose that a forth movie can be done on that, although unnecessary.
