Desire Under the Elms

Delbert Mann's direction is plodding and obvious, Burl Ives hams it up even more than usual, and Sophia Loren looks like she's wandered in from some other picture.

Well acted especially by Burl Ives. The score is pretty good as is the cinematography. Plot wise this comes off a bit melodramatic at times, but is still very good fodder for the actors involved. The ending could have been more satisfactory though.
