Don't you just hate servants who can't stop talking? Well, that's what you get when you hire Sacha Guitry. Meddling stage play, but quite a passionate climax as Guitry opens himself about his desires. Wouldn't say this was among his best pieces, but it sure had it's moments.

Simple-minded, neither as nimble or insightful as some other servant satires (i.e. The Rules of the Game, My Man Godfrey), and I find Guitry himself rather obnoxious here. Its got some lively and charming little bits of creativity, notably a spoken title sequence, leitmotif-based score, and match-cut editing, but the overall effect is pretty average and unremarkable.
