That last scene. With the rapid cuts between the flag and the proletariat fighting against the bosses has to be one of the best I'd ever seen. The rapid cuts are next to none. If you're not a commie after this I dunno.

I usually enjoy V. Pudovkin's films, but this one took a lot of patience on my part. Not always easy to follow the narrative and the movie took itself just too seriously. Too righteous in it's political message without any exciting add-ons to put anything worth wild across. One really has to be a communist romancer to get any excitement out of this Pudovkin movie. Visually cool of course in that clichéd Soviet style and he does get to play with sound giving it a slightly different perspective.
