Der Tiger von Eschnapur

Thea von Harbou's 1918 novel The Indian Tomb must have been a big success in Germany considering there was made THREE 2-part epics of the story! It's good if you enjoy cheaply written exotic pocketbook escapism like this. This is the 1st part and I enjoyed this one the most. Manages to mix the mystique well along with the ambitious sets! There is also La Jana's erotic dancing to enjoy! The pace is slow, but it's well enough paced to establish the story for part two, Das indische Grabmal (1938).
