Conrad Veidt is such a presence and there are touches to the film making which are haunting as you watch along with Veidt, this poor marriage crumble in front of you. Slow build frustration as Veidt has to do something about it. They could probable have done more to reach a better confrontation, but it was a mesmerizing piece of adultery.
